Target Information
Interleukin 23 subunit alpha is a protein encoded by the IL23A gene in rabbits. It forms one of the two subunits of the cytokine Interleukin-23. IL-23, which includes the IL-23A subunit, is essential for the differentiation, expansion, and maintenance of Th17 cells. Th17 cells produce pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-17, IL-22, and TNF-α. IL-23 contributes to immune defense against certain extracellular pathogens. Produced by dendritic cells and macrophages, IL-23 plays a crucial role in the inflammatory response against infections. IL-23 can influence tissue remodeling processes.
