Target Information

African swine fever virus CD2 homolog (CD2v) is a viral protein involved in immune modulation and viral pathogenesis. It is implicated in the virus's ability to evade the host's immune response and contributes to the virus's virulence. CD2v interacts with host CD58, triggering apoptosis in swine lymphocytes and macrophages, which may account for the lymphocyte depletion observed in ASF.
