Target Information
The MX1 gene in cattle encodes the interferon-induced GTP-binding protein Mx1. This protein is a dynamin-like GTPase that exhibits antiviral properties against several viruses, including the rabies virus (RABV), vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), and murine pneumonia virus (MPV). Only isoform 1 of Mx1 demonstrates antiviral effectiveness against vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), whereas isoform 2 does not.
