Target Information
Swine guanylate binding protein 1, interferon inducible (GBP1) is a member of the guanylate-binding protein family, which are large GTPases with microbicidal activity. GBP1 is induced by interferons and plays a critical role in the immune response against intracellular pathogens. It is involved in the modulation of cell death pathways, including apoptosis and pyroptosis, and acts as a gatekeeper for these processes in response to microbial infections. In swine, GBP1 contributes to the innate immune response, helping to control infections and protect cells from damage during the process of pathogen elimination.
