Target Information
Canine gastrin is a gastrointestinal hormone that significantly stimulates gastric acid secretion and plays a crucial role in various digestive processes. It is produced by G cells in the stomach antrum and is closely associated with the regulation of appetite and digestion. In dogs, gastrin is particularly important for the diagnosis of gastrinoma, a neuroendocrine tumor that can lead to increased gastric acid production, causing conditions like chronic vomiting and ulcers.
