Chicken delta(14)-sterol reductase LBR is an enzyme involved in steroid biosynthesis, catalyzing the reduction of the C14 double bond in lanosterol. It is essential for cholesterol synthesis and localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. LBR also anchors the nuclear lamina and heterochromatin, maintaining nuclear structure.
