Target Information
Bovine pulmonary surfactant-associated protein B (SFTPB) is a critical component of pulmonary surfactant, which reduces surface tension in the alveoli and prevents alveolar collapse. This protein is essential for maintaining lung function and is involved in the immune response within the lungs. It also plays a role in the pathogenesis of certain lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
