Target Information
Bovine peptidoglycan recognition protein 1 (PGLYRP1) is a key player in the innate immune response of cattle, particularly in regulating inflammation, response to infection, and post-infection healing. It functions as a receptor for murein peptidoglycans (PGN) of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, which is crucial for the activation of innate immunity. This protein is involved in the recognition of bacterial cell wall components, leading to the initiation of immune responses against invading pathogens.
