Target Information
Swine interferon beta (IFN-β) in swine is a type I interferon that is crucial for the host's antiviral response. It is produced in response to viral infections and plays a role in limiting viral replication and spreading by inducing an antiviral state in neighboring cells. IFN-β also has immunomodulatory functions, including the activation of natural killer (NK) cells and the enhancement of antigen presentation by dendritic cells, which are vital for initiating adaptive immune responses.
