Target Information
Bovine annexin A4 (ANXA4) is a protein that belongs to the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins. It is involved in various cellular processes, including membrane-related events along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. ANXA4 has been found to have in vitro anticoagulant activity and can inhibit phospholipase A2 activity. It is almost exclusively expressed in epithelial cells and plays a role in immune response and inflammation regulation. Recent studies have shown that the expression of Bovine annexin A4 in bacteria can promote cytokinesis, which is particularly useful in the context of bacterial chemotherapy as it may enhance the effectiveness of antibiotics by making bacterial cells more susceptible to immune system attack.
