Target Information

Type V collagen is a unique member of the collagen family, playing a crucial role in regulating the assembly and organization of other collagen fibers. Unlike the more structural collagen types like I, II, and III, Type V collagen itself forms thin, interwoven fibrils that contribute to the overall architecture and stability of the collagen network. Type V collagen is a form of fibrillar collagen found in the dermal-epidermal junction, placental tissue and in association with type I collagen-containing tissue. It plays an essential role in cell behaviour.
