Target Information
Swine interleukin 12B (IL12B) is a subunit of the IL-12 cytokine, which is a heterodimeric protein composed of IL-12A (p35) and IL-12B (p40) subunits. It is produced by antigen-presenting cells and plays a critical role in host defense against intracellular microbial infection and control of malignancy via its ability to stimulate both innate and adaptive immune effector cells. IL-12 is particularly known for inducing the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) from T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, promoting the development of T-helper 1 (Th1) cells.
