Target Information
Swine protein S100-A11 is a member of the S100 family of proteins, which are known for their role in calcium binding and involvement in various cellular processes, including cell growth regulation and inflammation. In swine, S100-A11 is expressed in multiple tissues and is located in the cytoplasm, nucleus, and cell periphery. It acts as a dual cell growth mediator, functioning as either a tumor suppressor or promoter in different types of tumors and influencing cancer cell proliferation. S100-A11 also plays a role in the nucleus by suppressing the growth of keratinocytes through p21 (CIP1/WAF1) activation and inducing cell differentiation.
