Target Information

Porcine pepsin is a digestive enzyme specifically an aspartic proteinase, derived from the stomachs of pigs. It breaks down proteins into smaller molecules called peptides in an acidic environment. In simulated gastric digestion studies, it can be used to mimic how the stomach breaks down proteins during digestion. It can also be used in specific step to isolate desired parts of antibodies.
