Swine apolipoprotein A-V (APOAV) is a protein that plays a significant role in regulating plasma triglyceride levels, a major risk factor for coronary heart disease. It is a component of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and is similar to a protein that is upregulated in liver injury in rats. Mutations in this gene are associated with hypertriglyceridemia and Type V hyperlipoproteinemia.

User Note
