Target Information
Canine hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) is a multifunctional protein that acts as a potent mitogen for hepatocytes and plays essential roles in monocyte-macrophage function, mammalian development, angiogenesis, and organ regeneration. It stimulates the proliferation, migration, and morphological differentiation of various cellular targets, including hepatocytes and other epithelial cells, melanocytes, endothelial, and hematopoietic cells. In dogs, HGF is crucial for tissue repair and regeneration, particularly in the liver, kidney, and lung, and it increases in injured organs to mediate paracrine action, promoting organic regeneration.
