Target Information
Bovine tissue factor pathway inhibitor 2 (TFPI2) is a matrix-associated Kunitz-type serine proteinase inhibitor that plays a role in the regulation of extracellular matrix digestion and remodeling. It inhibits a broad spectrum of serine proteinases, including trypsin, plasmin, and the factor VIIa-tissue factor complex, which are involved in blood coagulation and fibrinolysis. In bovine, TFPI2 contributes to maintaining the integrity of the extracellular matrix and has been associated with urinary tract function, suggesting a role in modifying urinary protein composition.
