Interleukin 6 is encoded by the IL6 gene in horses. IL-6 plays a crucial role in the placental response to induction of sub-acute equine ascending placentitis, and this could be noted in amniotic fluid, allantoic fluid, and maternal serum.

User Note
- Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Avoid mixing by vortexing or pipetting. Reconstitute in 10 mM PBS (pH 7.4) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Aliquote the reconstituted solution to minimise freeze-thaw cycles.
