Target Information
Canine Programmed Cell Death 1 (PDCD1) is an immune-inhibitory receptor expressed on activated T cells, B cells, and macrophages. It regulates T-cell functions, including proliferation and cytokine production, by binding to ligands PD-L1 and PD-L2. PDCD1 plays a crucial role in maintaining immune tolerance and preventing autoimmune diseases. However, it can also be exploited by tumors to evade immune surveillance. In dogs, PDCD1 is involved in diseases like leishmaniasis, regulating IL-17 and leishmanicidal activity.
