Target Information
In chickens, the inhibin beta A chain is encoded by the INHBA gene. Inhibins and activins play crucial roles in regulating the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland. Depending on their subunit composition, inhibins and activins are involved in a variety of functions, including the regulation of hypothalamic and pituitary hormone secretion, gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development, and bone growth.
