Target Information

S100 calcium-binding protein A12 (S100A12) is encoded by the S100A12 gene. This protein is thought to be involved in specific calcium-dependent signal transduction pathways, and its regulatory effects on cytoskeletal components may regulate various neutrophil activities. Comparative analysis of mRNA expression profiles of macrophages of two chicken breeds revealed that 22 DEGs (including S100A12) were found to be hub genes regulating phagocytosis by participating in different immunological biological signaling pathways.
