Target Information
In chickens, the HIF1A gene encodes Hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha, a key transcriptional regulator of the adaptive response to low oxygen conditions. During hypoxia, this factor stimulates the transcription of more than 40 genes, such as erythropoietin, glucose transporters, glycolytic enzymes, vascular endothelial growth factor, and HILPDA. These genes produce proteins that enhance oxygen delivery and support metabolic adaptation to hypoxic environments.
