Target Information
Feline sarcoma virus tyrosine-protein kinase transforming protein Abl (ABL) is a viral oncogene product encoded by the feline sarcoma virus (FeSV). It is a fusion protein (gag-abl) with tyrosine kinase activity, involved in the transformation of fibroblasts and epithelial cells. In veterinary medicine, ABL is used to study the molecular mechanisms of FeSV-induced cancers and to develop diagnostic tools for detecting FeSV-associated tumors. Its role in cell transformation and oncogenesis makes it a target for antiviral and anticancer therapies.
