H18N11 is a subtype of Influenza A virus derived from bats. The hemagglutinin (HA) protein, a homotrimeric glycoprotein located on the surface of influenza viruses, is crucial for the virus's infectivity. The HA1 subunit, which contains a receptor binding site, facilitates the virus's attachment to specific sialyl sugar chains on the host cell surface.
