Target Information

Shigella primarily causes disease in primates and does not affect other mammals. Shigella flexneri is one of the species within the Shigella genus. Alongside Shigella sonnei, it accounts for 90% of shigellosis cases. Peptidoglycan-associated lipoprotein is a part of the Tol-Pal system, which plays a role in outer membrane invagination during cell division and is important for maintaining outer membrane integrity.
