Target Information

Progesterone (P4) is an endogenous steroid and progestogen sex hormone involved in the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and embryogenesis of humans and other species. P4 plays a central role in reproductive events associated with the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy in all mammals. Determination of serum or plasma P4 concentrations is important for identifying pregnant and non-pregnant ewes and for predicting lamb numbers.
