Target Information
Dipeptidase 1 (DPEP1), also known as renal dipeptidase, is a membrane-bound glycoprotein responsible for hydrolyzing dipeptides. It is predominantly found in the microsomal fraction of the porcine kidney cortex. Dipeptidase 1 is encoded by the DPEP1 gene in pigs. It serves as a vascular adhesion molecule in lung and liver. It acts as a physical adhesion receptor independent of its dipeptidase activity.
