Target Information
Adrenomedullin is encoded by the porcine ADM gene. It was initially isolated from a pheochromocytoma, a tumor of the adrenal medulla, which is why it's called "adrenomedullin." ADM is expressed by all tissues and is found in the circulation. Research has shown an important role for ADM in uterine receptivity for implantation and conceptus growth and development in pigs.
