Target Information

Leukotriene C4 (LTC4) is a leukotriene that plays a role in allergic diseases, especially in bronchial asthma. It is produced in leukocytes by the oxidation of arachidonic acid and the essential fatty acid eicosapentaenoic acid. In a porcine model, research has shown that leukotrienes C4, D4, and E4 are extremely potent coronary constrictors in the in situ heart.
