Bovine Protein AMBP is encoded by the AMBP gene in cattle. AMBP acts as an antioxidant, protecting against harmful oxidants. It participates in tissue repair by removing and repairing macromolecules in various compartments. It is an immunosuppressive lipocalin. The AMBP gene may serve as a genetic marker for economic traits and as a basis for molecular breeding in Korean cattle.
