Target Information

E3 ubiquitin ligases are part of a three-enzyme cascade that includes ubiquitin activating enzymes (E1s), ubiquitin conjugating enzymes (E2s), and, the E3 ligases themselves. The E3 ubiquitin protein ligase BRE1A (RNF20) is an E3 ligase for histone H2B monoubiquitination. In prostate cancer cells, both RNF20 and RNF40 are able to modulate the transcriptional activity of the androgen receptor, which is associated with folliculogenesis.
