Target Information

Secretogranin-1 is a protein found in secretory vesicles of various cell types. SCG1 plays a role in regulating cargo packaging, granule biogenesis, and exocytosis, the process by which vesicles release their contents. It is encoded by the CHGB gene in bovine. CHGB is required for the appearance of robust anion conductances on the surface of neuroendocrine cells after regulated secretion.
