Target Information

Parathyroid hormone is encoded by the PTH gene in cats. Parathyroid hormone, released by the parathyroid glands, regulates blood calcium levels. Hypoparathyroidism, an absolute or relative deficiency of this hormone, can result in low blood calcium levels, a condition known as hypocalcemia.
