Target Information
C-type Natriuretic Peptide (CNP), also known as Natriuretic peptide precursor C (NPPC), is encoded by the NPPC gene in pigs. CNP is one of three main types of natriuretic peptides, alongside atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP). CNP, along with ANP and BNP, plays a crucial role in body fluid homeostasis and blood pressure control. NPPC can increase sperm motility and intracellular Ca2+ levels, and induce sperm release from oviduct isthmic cell aggregates.
