Target Information
Glutamyl aminopeptidase is a zinc-dependent membrane-bound aminopeptidase. It cleaves glutamatic and aspartatic amino acid residues from the N-terminus of polypeptides. It plays a crucial role in regulating blood pressure. It achieves this by degrading vasoconstricting angiotensin II into angiotensin III. Bovine Glutamyl Aminopeptidase is encoded by the ENPEP gene in cattle. It is a gene related to the adaptation of high-altitude hypoxia.
