Target Information
Hepatic lipase (HL), also known as hepatic triglyceride lipase (HTGL) or LIPC (for "lipase, hepatic"), is a form of lipase. Its primary function lies in catalyzing the hydrolysis of triacylglyceride. Bovine Hepatic Triacylglycerol Lipase is encoded by the LIPC gene in cattle. It appears to be involved in the hydrolysis of intermediate density lipoprotein (IDL) triglyceride to produce low density lipoprotein (LDL), and that of high density lipoprotein (HDL)-2 triglyceride and phospholipid to produce HDL-3.
