Target Information
Hormone-Sensitive Lipase (HSL), also known as p23, Fortilin, and histamine-releasing factor, is a multifunctional enzyme encoded by the LIPE gene in cattle. HSL mediates triglyceride hydrolysis in adipocytes during a hormonally controlled process called lipolysis. It breaks down triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol. It is an intracellular neutral lipase that can hydrolyze various esters and plays a crucial role in mobilizing fatty acids from diacylglycerols.
