Bovine Methylated-DNA-Protein-Cysteine Methyltransferase is encoded by the MGMT gene in cattle. It is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the cellular defense against the biological effects of O6-methylguanine and O4-methylthymine in DNA. It is an important cancer biomarker because it is involved in the repair of DNA damage.
