Target Information
MTHFD1L (Methylenetetrahydrofolate Dehydrogenase (NADP+ Dependent) 1-Like) is an enzyme involved in tetrahydrofolate (THF) synthesis in mitochondria. Unlike its counterpart, MTHFD1, which has trifunctional methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase, methenyltetrahydrofolate cyclohydrolase, and formyltetrahydrofolate synthetase enzymatic activities, MTHFD1L only has formyltetrahydrofolate synthetase activity. Bovine Monofunctional C1-Tetrahydrofolate Synthase, Mitochondrial is encoded by the MTHFD1L gene in cattle. The MTHFD1L enzyme is present in the mitochondria of normal embryonic tissues and embryonic fibroblast cell lines.
