Target Information

Bovine NACHT, LRR and PYD Domains-Containing Protein 3 is a cytosolic protein involved in the innate immune response, particularly in the inflammasome complex, which activates caspase-1 and triggers the production of inflammatory cytokines. It is encoded by the NLRP3 gene in cattle. NLRP3 inflammasome components may be normally expressed in skeletal muscle, but its priming and activation during aging may contribute to enhancing a pro-inflammatory environment that alters normal muscle anabolism and metabolism.
