Bovine Cardiac Phospholamban is encoded by the PLN gene in cattle. It plays a crucial role in the regulation of cardiac muscle contraction. It is a key component of the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) and regulates the activity of the SERCA2a. It is a also critical player in maintaining calcium homeostasis in the heart, impacting muscle contraction and overall cardiac function.
