Target Information
Bovine Prostaglandin F2-Alpha Receptor is encoded by the PTGFR gene in cattle. It binds to and mediates the biological actions of Prostaglandin F2α. PGF2α is a naturally occurring prostaglandin with various functions in the body, including inducing labor and acting as an abortifacient. It has been suggested that PTGFR activation may induce endometrial repair by upregulating PTGS-2 gene expression and stimulating VEGF, CTGF, TGF-β1, and IL-8 gene expression via activation of the protein kinase C signaling pathway.
