Target Information

Histamine is an organic nitrogenous compound involved in the communication of local immune responses and, together with other cytokines, can induce vasodilation, systemic hypotension, airway edema, bronchospasm, and diarrhea. Histamine is produced by basophils and mast cells during an immune response to foreign pathogens. Histamine release and high plasma histamine concentrations are considered the core for anaphylactic reactions in human and veterinary patients.
