Target Information

Matrix Metalloproteinase 7 (MMP-7), also known as matrilysin, pump-1 protease, or uterine metalloproteinase, is an enzyme encoded by the goat gene MMP7. It is a member of the matrix metalloproteinases, which are endopeptidases of the metzincin family involved in the degradation of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins during organogenesis, growth, and normal tissue turnover. MMP7 can act upstream of MMP2 and MMP9 and, similar to Hsp90, is overexpressed in highly metastatic cells.
