Target Information

Oxytocin is a natural hormone that controls key aspects of the female and male reproductive systems, including labour, birth and lactation. It is a peptide hormone and neuropeptide normally produced in the hypothalamus and released by the posterior pituitary gland. Research has shown that central injection of oxytocin reduces food intake and affects gene expression in the hypothalamus and adipose tissue of chickens.
