Target Information
DNA damage binding protein 1 (DDB1) was first identified as the large subunit (127 kDa) of a heterodimer (UV-DDB) complex that recognises UV- or chemical mutagen-induced DNA damage and recruits the nuclear excision repair machinery. It was subsequently found to play an important role as an adaptor molecule for the CUL4 E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. The interaction between VP8, the most abundant tegument protein of bovine herpesvirus-1, and DDB1 was confirmed.
