Target Information

Nerve growth factor is encoded by the NGF gene in horses. It is a neurotrophic factor and neuropeptide primarily involved in the regulation of growth, maintenance, proliferation, and survival of certain target neurons. It is increased in osteoarthritic joints of horses.
