Target Information

Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is a biologically active sphingolipid metabolite that regulates the survival, differentiation, and motility of cells. S1P is derived from ceramide, which consists of a sphingosine molecule linked to a fatty acid. The enzyme ceramidase converts ceramide to sphingosine, which is then phosphorylated by sphingosine kinase (SK). It is involved in the processes of cell migration, proliferation, and autophagy.
