Target Information

Porcine myeloid differentiation primary response 88 (pMYD88) is an adaptor protein that plays a central role in the innate immune system of pigs, particularly in the signaling pathways of toll-like receptors (TLRs) and the interleukin-1 receptor (IL-1R). As a key component of the TLR signaling cascade, pMYD88 is essential for initiating the immune response to pathogens by facilitating the transmission of signals from TLRs to downstream molecules, leading to the activation of transcription factors such as nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) and mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs). The function of pMYD88 is critical for the recognition of various microbial components, including lipopolysaccharides, viral RNA, and bacterial DNA. Its involvement in the inflammatory response and the regulation of immune cell activation makes it a significant target for research in immunology and infectious disease.
