Target Information
Porcine V-type proton ATPase catalytic subunit A (pATP6V1A) is a critical component of the V-type proton ATPase, an enzyme complex that actively transports protons across cellular membranes in pigs. This enzyme plays a vital role in maintaining the acidification of intracellular compartments such as lysosomes, endosomes, and secretory vesicles, which is essential for various cellular processes including protein degradation, antigen presentation, and neurotransmitter release. pATP6V1A is the catalytic subunit of the V1 sector of the ATPase, which is responsible for ATP hydrolysis. This hydrolysis reaction provides the energy needed to drive the transport of protons against their concentration gradient, from the cytosol to the lumen of the organelles.
